About SYJ

Of the people, by the people, for the people.

SYJ Times is a student-led publication featuring articles written by members of the Society of Young Journalists and contributors from around the world. Our goal is to unite students through writing and sharing perspectives, experiences, and ideas. We are creating a space where young voices can be heard beyond the classroom, across borders, and in ways that make an impact.

Journalism

Our History

The Society of Young Journalists (SYJ) was founded in June 2025 by Angelina Stewart. It started as a school newspaper, Tigres Today, at Dallas International School, a small community with passionate and diverse student writers.

Hoping to create something bigger, Angelina founded SYJ to unite students from different places and backgrounds through one platform, SYJ Times. What began as a local school publication has grown into an international platform where young voices from around the world can share their perspectives and make an impact.
